For easter me and Daan were invited to eat at Brasserie ‘t Ogenblik for an easter brunch with some friends. Since we are always up for eating somewhere we said yes straight away.
The brasserie is located in this very cozy and cute street called Molenstraat in The Hague. They serve breakfast, lunch, high teas and even high wines. When you enter you get greeted and welcomed by the personnel, which makes you feel very much at home. The brasserie has a very intimate and relaxed feel. It was pretty packed but you do not notice that when you sit at your own table.
Their menu is pretty diverse and prices differ from €6.50 to €15 for bigger meals which is nice, especially for students. You got everything from eggs for breakfast to club sandwiches and toasties ,salads and wraps, burgers and steak and even dutch pancakes. You name it and they got it. Most of us got a sandwich since it was lunch time. I went for the beef carpaccio sandwich and Daan chose the club sandwich with chicken, bacon and egg.
For me a sandwich is allowed to be named a club sandwich when chips or fries come on the side and thank god the brasserie agrees with that because that’s how they were served. It also came with a little bit of balsamico and who doesn’t love balsamico. The sandwiches were delicious and very filling. The bread was lightly toasted which was very nice. For dessert we got these little brownies, jam filled cakes and muffins which were very annoying because after eating one you keep wanting more. You’d think because they’re so tiny that it’s nothing but after 5 minutes you’ve eaten 4 and you didn’t even notice! Watch out for those!
For the price and the vibe I give it 5 stars. The service was great which makes sense because their restaurant was chosen to have the best servants of The Hague for a fifth year in a row by iens. If that does not convince you to go there then I don’t know what will. Coincidentally I saw one of my friends there who said she eats there pretty often. So I think I already have my next visit planned 🙂
