Madrid is one of my favourite places to visit. I don’t know what it is… the charm, the beautiful old buildings, the warm culture. It all just pulls me into a romantic fantasy world where everything is fun and where the food is amazing.
Last year around April, I was visiting a friend in madrid for a couple days. She introduced me to this magical place called Celicioso. This year being back in Madrid, I wanted to show this place to my boyfriend.
Celicioso is a gluten free bakery located in the city centre of Madrid. Its hidden in an alley across the street of all the big stores. When you pass the store outside it does not look that poppin but what struck me both times visiting madrid is that you always see people (mostly women of course) leaving the little alley with a cardboard bag that has “celicioso” written on it.
What I like about this place? The amount of cupcakes options they have! I can never make a decision when picking one and I don’t want to be greedy and pick two (I tried that being the fatas that I am and I could not finish the second one). A big plus is the gluten free and vegan options they have and the cookies they sell. I do not know a lot of bakery’s that have that. For the locals, you can personalize your cakes or cupcakes. For breakfast and lunch you can choose between anything from sandwiches and salads to pancakes and egg’s.
Location: Calle de Hortaleza, 3, 28004 Madrid, Spain
There’s also one located in Malaga, Spain.
